Dry ice blasting for electrical cabinets

Conductive dust, grease and contamination in your electrical cabinets and switchboards cause failures, short-circuits and fire risks. Dry ice blasting removes them without water, without chemicals, possible while energised, with no need to shut down your installations.

Non-conductive Possible while energised No water Zero production stop
The problem

A dirty cabinet is a real risk

  • Conductive dust creates risks of short-circuit and electrical arcing
  • Contamination of contactors and relays causes costly unexpected failures
  • Dust build-up reduces heat dissipation, risking overheating
  • Compressed air cleaning moves dust around without removing it
  • Shutting down the installation for cleaning means costly production downtime
The dry ice blasting solution

Clean cabinet, installation maintained

  • Complete removal of dust, grease and contamination, no displacement, full removal
  • Dry, non-conductive process, intervention possible without de-energising in certain cases
  • Zero water, no short-circuit risk related to humidity
  • Precision cleaning in the most complex areas: contactors, relays, busbars
  • Intervention report for your electrical maintenance log and audits
Equipment treated

What we clean in your installations

01

HV/LV distribution cabinets

Cleaning of high and low voltage cabinets in substations, transformer stations and industrial buildings.

02

Industrial switchboards

Cleaning of control panels, control boxes and PLC cabinets of production lines.

03

Telecom cabinets

Cleaning of server racks, network cabinets and telecom equipment in server rooms and data centres.

04

Machine control boxes

Cleaning of electrical control boxes integrated into production machines with no disassembly.

05

Transformers & inverters

Cleaning of transformers, inverters and conversion equipment subject to contamination by conductive dust.

06

Solar inverters

Cleaning of inverters and junction boxes of solar installations, complementary to solar panel cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

Dry ice blasting for electrical cabinets

CO2 is non-conductive; it does not create an electrical risk by itself. However, every intervention requires a prior risk assessment under Belgian electrical regulations (RGIE). Icetec assesses each situation with your electrical manager. In many industrial cases, partial de-energisation is sufficient.
Not if the parameters are correctly set. Pressure is reduced for areas with sensitive components, PCBs, relays, capacitors. A preliminary test is performed on the most delicate elements before the full intervention.
Depending on the industrial environment, we recommend an annual or biannual intervention. Very dusty environments (cement plants, woodworking, metallurgy) require a higher frequency. A preventive maintenance contract can be set up with Icetec.
Yes. Icetec provides a complete intervention report after each cleaning: date, equipment treated, observations and recommendations, useful for your electrical maintenance log and compliance audits.
