No. The temperature of dry ice (−78.5 °C) creates a thermal shock on surface deposits without affecting the bulk of the wood. Ambient heat and the wood's limited thermal conductivity mean the wood's internal temperature does not drop to problematic levels.

Dry ice blasting effectively removes surface mould and visible spores. For mould deeply embedded in the fibres, a complementary fungicide treatment may be necessary after cleaning. Icetec assesses the condition of the wood and advises on the overall solution.

Yes, that is precisely the advantage. Timber frames are cleaned in place from scaffolding. No dismantling of trusses or joints. The intervention is scheduled according to accessibility and attic configuration.
